EVA units 01 and 02 in gattai form of the Gunmen-type (larger one, who's head serves as the torso if combined) EVA 02 (Nigoki) and mini-Gunmen-type (who will serve as the head if combined) EVA 01 (Shogoki)

unlike Gurren Lagann, Sho-Ni will not preform abilities that involve drills produced by it's body , but instead, convert weapons into a channel for Spiral Energy. If Sho-Ni grabs a sword hilt, a drill will form in place (as shown) of a blade, using Spiral energy to enhance attacks and even create energy-based projectiles. If a fire arm was used, a drill tip will form at the barrel. When the trigger is pulled, the drill will rotate. As it does, Spiral Energy will be fired out in a manner familiar with the type of gun (rapid fire for machine gun-based; explosive, slow-fired shots for rocket launcher-based; etc.). changes in the weapon will be more powerful hits, precise aiming, and the shots will even curve and follow the target if needed ( Hey, its Spiral Energy, the stuff can do anything)

since it takes place in an alternate universe, Shinji and Asuka will pilot it and be part of the Dai-Gurren Brigade, along with Rei, who will also have a mech.

hmm, maybe i should draw what Shinji's and her's would look like combined

Wow. That's kinda cool. Though at first, I would have thought that would have been a Gunmen for Lordgenome, since his Lazengann is loosely based on EVA-01.
